Future Order Commitment and Availability

in Distribution - JDE1 (MOSC) 13 commentsAnswered ✓

Hello there.

Seek your advice on the approach of reserving stock for future orders.

--The future order is placed based on the ship date and the interval date setup in BP constant. --The future order quantity is accumulated into the future commit column in Item location table.

--The BP constant decides NOT to subtract from available quantity calculation.

So there are two scenarios onto future orders as scenario one that don't commit inventory which is ok with this process/setup and only allocate stock until the ship date comes within the current period. The challenge facing right now is of scenario two that future order with location/lot pre-allocated at order entry. Because of future order quantity is not deducted from availability calculation, the reserved stock for future order were allocated to other orders . When the ship date is coming for future order, there is no stock available anymore.

Howdy, Stranger!
