EBS 12.1.3

When trying to enter the serial number, the system doesn't provide an option to be selected. Subinventory transfer fails stating ''Item Attribute Serial Control Code has been changed, please clear this transaction and re-enter the details''.

Can somebody tell me how to solve this?
