is it possible to find out an Oracle version at the time of backup?

Hello,

lets say that from time to time we save long-term Oracle rman backups for years . Now we need to restore the db from some of them - so I am able to find out in rman catalog and backup sw catalog the identifiers for all required backups (controlfile, datafiles, archlogs), as well as tape media IDs, and I am waiting for tapes to be transported from offline vault to online tape library.

In the meantime, am I able to find out which Oracle version will be needed for this restore? Lets say the backup is 3 years old and I am not sure if the db was at version 11g or 12c or at something else at that time. Is this info saved somewhere in rman catalog, or in other system tables?

Howdy, Stranger!
