is it a good practice to make a copy of all the EPM folders in Lunux?

hello

I need to make a backup of my linux server where EPM is installed. but I only have access to do it from terminal, is it a good practice to make a copy of all the EPM folders? or what is recommended to do to make the backup of my EPM instance in linux from terminal?
