Express Edition 21c silent installation fatal error DBT-10316 GDB Domain

Hello all,

we do silent installation of XE 21c on a Windows 10 Pro virtual machine, we reset the VM, install, check outcome and start over. The installation fails in about 2 of 3 cases.

Our response file:

LISTENER_PORT=0

EMEXPRESS_PORT=0

CHAR_SET=AL32UTF8

Call of installer:

From setup.log we see that dbca is executed with -gdbName XE.°ö+£‡

And product\21c\cfgtoollog\dbca\silent log file shows:

[ 2022-02-22 05:26:30.711 CET ] [FATAL] [DBT-10316] Specified GDB Domain (°ö+£‡) contains characters that are not allowed.
