SSN Masking on ESS on 8.58

I tried to use the delivered page field configuration for masking the SSN on Self service personal data, Personal Information summary. I created a new page field configuration with configuration type as masking for components HR_ADDTL_INFO_FL, HR_EE_PERS_INFO. I selected the record field DERIVED_HR.NID_SPECIAL_CHAR and set the masking profile to FULL. But that's not masking the SSN on ESS. Am I missing any other setup? , Do I need to map any service ID to the event mapping for personal info ?
