Goldengate Microservices Deployments

We are trying to move from Classic architecture to Microservices architecture (MSA). We mostly use downstream extract. Which is also available in MSA. Once of the question I have regarding deployments, is that when I stop a Deployment, what is expected?

Will it bring down all extracts and Replicat inside that deployment?

Or

The replicat and extract will keep running?

If it is not stopping any extract or replicat? Then what is the use of deployments?
