Can a two node GRID cluster with standalone databases be separated into single standalone nodes?

We have several two node clustered AIX servers that would be considered RAC only at the GRID/CRS level. It has been requested to investigate separating the two nodes into single nodes. We currently have two nodes that are stand-alone and use ASM / CRS and only use the HAS manager where as our clustered nodes use the full CRS set of binaries. At this point I'm not sure this is even possible. Anyone have experience with this?
