Physical standby switchover connection using ezconnect

in High Availability Data Guard, Sharding and Global Data Services (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered ✓

I have an application that uses ezconnect (config in ini files) to establish connection with Oracle 19c database. I created a physical standby for high availability and wanted to make sure that there is a seamless failover for the application connection as well. However, I am not able to resolve the connection issue and wanted to see if I could get some pointers in the right direction. I do understand that Oracle's best practices recommends jdbc, odbc etc but there is not much I can do on the application end.

DB Version: Oracle Enterprise 19c (19.13)

OS: Windows 2019 64 bit

When using ezconnect if the host with primary database is the first entry then connection is fine:
