Guardian OS upgrade affect Goldengate functioning?

We're upgrading Nonstop systems which are currently running version 11.1.1.0.14 of Goldengate. The Guardian OS is moving from J06.18.01 to J06.23.01 . Will Goldengate run, hobble, or fall on its face? If we need to upgrade Goldengate, can we go to version 12 or must we go to some other version?
