Costing at the Position Level

Good Afternoon!

We are interested in making use of costing on the position and not just the assignment. Is there anyone out there that has costing on the position? I found a way to accomplish this via the EIT Flex Fields below but am curious if there is a better way. How are others accomplishing this if so?
