Double Byte into 2nd or 3rd Item

Dears,

We are implementing 9.2 R22 (TR 9.2.5.5) for a local customer who doesn't use English at all. As now started with 8.9 E1 is Unicode compliant, and so like to know if E1 supports to enter the double-byte characters (i.e. CT) into 2nd or 3rd Item Numbers without any issues? Thanks!
