tar not extracting

in Oracle Solaris File Systems and Disk Management (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered ✓

I am using tar -cfE rman_"$NOW"_u06.tar *.bak to tar all my backup pieces into one file but when i try to extract the pieces I just get the message tar: blocksize = 2 and the files do not extract.

 tar -xvf rman_2022-03-13_u08.tar

tar: blocksize = 2

I am on solaris version 5.11
