Oracle Instant Client - Installing both x86_64 and i386 version on one Linux machine

in Database Utilities (MOSC) Question

Hello folks

I tried to install Oracle Instant Client 19.14 for x86_64 (first) and i386 (second) architecture from the RPM on a EL7 machine.

yum fails with the following error:

"

Error: Execution of '/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y install oracle-instantclient19.14-basic.i386' returned 1: ERROR with transaction check vs depsolve:

libclntsh.so.19.1 conflicts with oracle-instantclient19.14-basic-19.14.0.0.0-1.i386

libclntsh.so.19.1 conflicts with (installed) oracle-instantclient19.14-basic-19.14.0.0.0-1.x86_64

"

OIC v12.1 (at least) supported installation of both architectures.

Is there any documentation on which version was the latest to support both architectures installed on the same machine?

Or any knowledge about how to install both architectures on one machine?
