Has anyone successfully integrated ePro Punchout Purchasing with Inventory? Is it even possible?

My employer wants to integrate ePro punchout purchasing with the Inventory module so that orders for inventory items placed through punchout, when received, will increment the on-hand quantity. I am aware that punchout purchasing is meant for non-inventory items however, I'm interested in seeing if anyone has developed a customization and if so, how you went about it. I look forward to any and all feedback!
