AutoUpgrade and different oracle home owners

Oracle database, Enterprise Edition..

I'm preparing to upgrade from 18c to 19c on AIX. The two oracle homes have different owners (ora18c and ora19c).

I know that you can't use DBUA when the source and target Oracle homes are owned by different users, but what about the AutoUpgrade utility (autoupgrade.jar)? Can AutoUpgrade be used when the source and target Oracle homes are owned by different users?

If so, are there any caveats? What are they?

Or am I limited to manual upgrade (Parallel Upgrade Utility)?

I've already checked, but can't find confirmation on this, in Doc ID 2485457.1
