Database CPU Patching is taking way too long (12c and 19c RACs)

Hi All,

Need some tips to improve the opatchauto utility which is performing very slow in our environments.

History:

we have not been applying the CPU patches regularly in our Database the latest patch update was from 2017 and we started to update them on and the each time we apply the Latest (Jan 2022 CPU DB patch in RAC) it is taking almost 24hours (Includes pre-patching, patching and Post patching).

Is their a way to increase the performance of this ?

opatchauto -analyse takes around 3 hours

opatchauto apply takes 6 to 12 hours

i believe this not normal and need some guidance to increase the performance.
