Relink grid receive memory exhausted error

linux 7.9 - 250G physical memory/30G swap. 12.2.0.1 Grid/11.2.0.4 DB. Upgraded to uek and am receiving the following error when relinking grid -

Error in invoking target 'irman ioracle rac_on dnfs_on' of makefile '/u01/grid/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/grid/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk'
