Net Tuition & Fees Setup in Veteran Benefits Module

The Vets Office has asked if the Veteran Benefits module can only pull in tuition specific grants. When looking at the set-up, it appears that only Item Type Groups can be used which is links to tree nodes.

The campus tuition specific grants are not numerically together in the existing tree and there isn't a specific node. The campus is considering creating a new tree called Vets_Mod and only putting tuition specific grants in that new tree.

Would that work with the Veteran Benefits module? The campus currently only has one tree and it was created at the beginning of PS time. We assume there wouldn’t be any incorrect cross over because all the set-up starts with the name of the tree and then the node. Any advice?
