Allowing multiple absence types on the same day and cap the requested hours to standard hours

We allow our users to request multiple absence types for the same. For example, a user could enter 3.5 sick and 3.5 vacation. We have seen some user enter multiple types for the same that exceed their standard hours. For example, a user has standard hours of 7 per day. They enter 5 sick and 5 vacation for the same day. We are guessing the user forgot they entered sick when they are requesting vacation.

My question: Is there a way to configure AM to cap the number of hours requested per day? We could create a customization that warns the user they are exceeding their standard hours, but we prefer to not customize.
