How to create single item code for different manufactures?

We have a scenario as follows

To create same Item code for different manufacturers?

At present we have 10 manufactures for single item, manufacturer wise if we need to create item code, we have to create 10 different item codes for a single item.

Is there any option handle different manufacturers with a single item code to avoid duplication of items.
