How many directory-server entries are recognized in the ldap.ora file

How many servers are being recognized in the line

DIRECTORY_SERVERS=server1,server2,server3,…

of the file ldap.ora ?

All Oracle documentation is only talking about the primary and the secondary directory-server but nowhere is explicitly said that third, fourth,… entries will be ignored.

I need a definitive statement how many directory-server entries are being recognized in the ldap.ora file.
