Ksplice updates: In memory updates vs on-disk updates

edited May 1, 2022 11:05PM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered ✓

Good day,

I have read some of the Ksplice documentation and found some bits of the info to be ambiguous, leaving me uncertain as to how it works exactly.

Q1: Are any Ksplice updates written to disk, or are all of them applied in-memory only?

Q2: Are Ksplice update packages written to disk, then loaded and applied in memory, and then also applied permanently after a reboot?

Regards.
