Using decimals in item availability

We are currently running JDE 9.2 and working to implement manufacturing. Our output of product is in metric tonnage however sales may be in portions of a metric ton. How do we allow for fractions to be recorded in both sales and availability? We want to prevent rounding and only record the true amount.
