Adding disks - external redundancy

Dear Experts,

recently,we have add 2 disks, each of 100 GB to extend the space to a +DATA diskgroup. We have 8 existing disks each of 100 GB in that diskgroup.

Disk addition is successfull but rebalance didnt happen. We checked for 5 min after disks addition but no rebalance started.

our version 12.1.0.2 and diskgroup is in external redundancy. Is it expected?
