Is there any workaround to restrict the Deferred number of periods to 12 or 24 months R12?

Our accountants want to restrict the Deferred number of periods to 12 or 24 months but in since release 12.0.0 it is not possible to see Fields "Deferred period type" and "Deferred number of periods" When Entering Multi PeriodInvoices (Doc ID 1592742.1).

Is there any workaround to do it without any development?
