Migrating Documents (FND_LOBS) out of EBS R12

Greetings Folks,

We inherited an R12.2.7 environment containing stored documents (mostly Payables/Procurement invoices, contracts, receipts but includes other products) where each document is associate with a business transaction. As a result, the database (specifically the FND_LOBS table) is growing exponentially which causes other problems with backups and clones.

I have been advised that duplicate copies of these documents are also in our PaperVision document management system but used for a different business purpose.

Our objective is to get those documents out of the database while still accessible from R12.

What are some cost-effective options for migrating the documents out of R12?
