Summary Forecasting R3465 - Processing options question

On the Extract Sales Orders Program (R3465), the Summary Tab in the Processing Options. PO 3. Category Code Address Book: What is the functionality tied to leaving this processing option <BLANK>. Do you know what "cost center" is referred to in the help popup? I know what using value <1> is , and have seen its functionality... but I cannot figure out what a blank value does... We want to be able to use the Ship To address book category codes to build the hierarchy, but we don't want to do large customer summaries.... it appears that the
