Why ORACLE optimizer did not run gather stat automatically on some tables that needed

Hi,


we are experiencing some performance issue due to not collecting the status regularly , but we noticed its suppose to pickup by Oracle optimizer but didn't , we need to know why optimizer didn't run automatically and how we can tune the optimizer to include those table for next run
