Customize the fixed asset number generation with asset Category

Dear all,

             We have a requirement to customize the fixed asset number generation with a predefined alphanumeric number eg.B00001, and C00002 based on the type of the asset. Since the assets can be created using ADI, Quick Mass Additions, Mass Additions-AP to FA, and Post Mass Additions, the asset number is generated at different times and using different methods.

But in the end, the asset number generation will depend on the sequence. So what would be the best way to achieve this requirement.

Customizing the sequence, would it be the right one and if so can anyone share their insights.
