PeopleSoft page grid download to Excel - numbers format as text

We are on HCM 9.2 (image 39)/PT 8.59.09.

When user downloads to Excel from page grid (such as Workforce Job Summary), the numbers such as hourly rates are in text format i.e. not recognized as number. Every time users will have to first convert the data into number format, before any calculation can be performed.

Is there a solution or workaround? Thank you!
