P03B102: Form Extensions: Addition of Reference Field causes error in

Hello Community,

I am testing using the form extension fonctionality in the form P03B102 Select Invoices by Remittance, and when I add the field Reference (VR01) it causes the following error

EXTENDED FIELD WARNING

Extended fields will not be saved as the primary keys are not available in Update Mode. Extended fields in the following detail lines were not saved.

Question:

Is there away to avoid this error and use the Reference field?

Is this a limitation of using Form Extensions?

What is the best course of action? Using traditional methods to customize the grid to include the field?
