We have built a new Oracle Linux 8.6 virtual server to put vendor services on. The vendor needs the ability to connect to our databases on another server.

We have done the install of the

sudo dnf install oracle-database-preinstall-21c.x86_64

dnf install -y java-1.8.0-openjdk.x86_64

We have the LINUX.X64_213000_client.zip unzipped and owned by oracle:oinstall

We have selected Administrator, Runtime, Custom and all error with the same error

java.io.IOError: java.io.IOException: Input/output error

       at java.io.Console.readPassword(Console.java:314)

       at oracle.install.commonva.io.IOError: java.io.IOException: Input/output error:q!s.base.util.PasswordHelper.getPassword(PasswordHelper.java:77)

Howdy, Stranger!
