One solution for error 17002

A number of users were suddenly unable to connect to the database using SQL Developer. (Their version was 18-something, but that isn't relevant.) They either got no error - it just spun and spun but never connected - or "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond / Vendor code 17002". The users were using Win10 virtual desktops in Amazon Workspaces. The problem turned out to be the MTU (maximum transmission unit) size configured in the
