how can we freeze Siebel application after launching external application in new browser tab

We have a requirement wherein we have to launch external application from Siebel in a new separate browser tab and after launching it , the Siebel screen should freeze and it should be unfreeze only once external application is closed and user does refresh.

We are launching external application using symbolic URL form-redirect command.


Can anybody help here on how we can achieve this requirement?
