User getting an error when deleting a part number

Hi,

The user has the same part number assigned to two branch plants. The user would like to delete the part number from 110 as that inventory branch is no longer in use. The user receives an error when he tries to do this.

Error: Record not available for deletion

I found this document: Inventory Items FAQ (P4101/ P41026 / P4104 / P4107 / P41200) (Doc ID 1275844.1)

Question 2: How can an inventory item be deleted? This section statues "to make sure there are no open work orders, purchase orders or sales orders for the item. If an open order exists for the item, update the order to a closed status."
