Recommandation when adding a new processing option to a batch

Dear all,

I would like to know what the best practice is when adding a new processing options to a batch.

Shall we redeploy all the version of the batch? Or only the version for which the version is activated.

We are on 9.0/9.1 platform.

My worry is that if, later on, we activate the new processing on a version that hasn't been redeployed after adding the processing option, the processing option will not work.

But that's a guess only...

Can someone explain to me in a few sentences how it works, what is the best practice and why it should be done like this?
