New CVE-2022-21505 OL7 kernel-uek-5.4.17-2136.309.5.el7uek.x86_64 panics

I have v6.1 vbox, running an Oracle linux machine, version 7.9. I install the quarterly CPU updates on it and reboot before I try the same on my other systems. The last working kernel was 5.4.17-2136.308.9.el7uek.x86_64. After I install the following from the July 19 CPU's;

CVE-2022-21505 Unbreakable Enterprise kernel security update 7,8 ELSA-2022-9609

a new kernel, 5.4.17-2136.309.5.el7uek.x86_64, is installed. When I reboot with "init 6" - I get a kernel panic and the machine will not reboot.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?
