Upgrade Help EPM 11.2.2 + Planning Requirement

Hi

1. We are planning on upgrading our current environment. Currently we have

Essbase (Standalone)

Financial Reporting studio

Excel add in

Workspace

Shared services

all running on 11.1.2.2 that we need to upgrade to latest version.

I have heard that for us to upgrade we would need to have Hyperion planning instance installed as well (Can anyone please confirm this) it should not be the case as far as i know but couple of my coworkers say this is mandatory.

We currently do not have Hyperion planning and we don't have a need for it either.

we are trying to avoid implementing a whole new product that is useless to us, just because we need to upgrade.
