Color Coding Activity Codes

How does someone use the color coding in Activity Codes to the Project.

e.g I have coded the phases with different colors. Now when I try to group and sort by Activity Coding and save it as a view...The color doesn't show up on the Schedule.. Does anyone know how does this work?
