P6 performance is very slow

I have several users who are experiencing extremely slow response times, literally minutes to see response after a key stroke. Other users on same system see adequate to good response times. I'm starting to troubleshoot this, but would like to get some thoughts from others in this forum who may have faced similar issues and what worked to improve things.
