How do negative commitments occur in JD Edwards?
I've been having some issues with private distributors and their inventory interface jobs causing negative commitments. This causes a positive availability, which is a problem if the item is out of stock. The product then seems to be available for ordering, which customers pick up on. Now there is a SO with no product to fill it, causing multiple issues for one reason or another.
Are there many reasons for negative commitments? I know credits can cause this, is there any others? I have a system to treat the symptoms of this, but I would like to cut the issue off at the source.
