How do I convince the DBCA utility to use the locations and files names I want to use?

I have installed Oracle19c (19.0.0.0.0) software on the database server and I am creating databases on the server. When DBCA creates the database it places the controlfiles and redologs in locations that it determines (defaults I suppose) and with names I would never choose to use. How do I get DBCA to create the files in the locations I choose and the with the names I choose to use? I edit the locations and names on the "Customize Storage" page but it doesn't seem to matter to DBCA.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
