Fluid Position Management Approval chain not routing as expected

Hello, Community,

We are setting up approvals for Fluid Position Management. One of our paths is supposed to go from Supervising Manager - Human Resources Business Partner - Department Manager - etc.

I was expecting that the Department Manager would be driven by the Department on the updated Position. Instead, it's always going to the Department Manager of the HR Business Partner. I've tried several different User Lists, plus checked the Transaction Keys as Input box on the User List setup, but nothing is working. I don't want to have to write a complicated query just to get the Department Manager for the actual position department.
