Can we add group of specific people in approval notification other than defined purchasing hierarchy

We have requirement to send purchase order approval notification to multiple people on requirement basis at run-time. so is it possible to send approval notification to group of people other than already available in purchasing hierarchy. And after completion from group of people it is forward to the specific person defined in PO hierarchy. we are using this option through approve and forward option but only one person can be selected there. Please guide.
