OeBS attachments backup

in Technology Stack - EBS (MOSC) Question

We store attachments as LOB files in a database. Our database size is about 2 TB. And attachments take about 1.5 TB. Saving files to a database is very resource hog and the database grows extensively. Making backups takes a very long time.

Is it possible to backup attachments separately? So that we can restore OeBS database with or without attachments.
