Not able to check override ATP flag?

EBS Order Management. Ver: 12.2.9

While trying to check override ATP flag on SO line level, system says the following, "You must perform a scheduling action to override the line. Please perform a scheduling action and set the override flag." Seems a bit counter-intuitive as I want to override ATP and put a SSD on SO line. Pls suggest.
