JDE DataBrowser of F0911 and other tables - PN Period number versus date range

Has anyone else run into this?

In order to help with the education of the system the use of databrowser for the end users is a "hot topic". The problem technically is a concern to tying up resources by querying this table. We have found by not using GLPN (period number) but using a G/L date range the databrowser query runs lightening quick. This scenario works the same way for SQL(TOAD)

Is this common or could this be an issue elsewhere, perhaps the table indices? Thanks...
