Extended Absence - Employee Self Service to update Expected return date

There is no option now in extended absence employee self service for the employee to request a change in expected return date or the actual return date of an approved leave. I am just wondering how other customers are handling this other than the administrators changing it for the employee. Also is there a roadmap to deliver manager self service to request extended absence for an employee just like the normal absence.
