Xstore Lead Register Hostname Change

If we need to change the hostname/IP address of the Xstore lead register in production, what are the options?

If register hardware is closely tied with hostname/IP address (unique to each physical machine) and lead register needs to be replaced (due to hardware failure or any other reason), the new system will have different hostname and IP address.

Any recommended way to update the configurations on all the non-lead registers and any other place hostname change is required.
